Blue Zircon In Folklore

It is used as the stone for the 4th Anniversary. It is known as one of the first gemstone used by man. Ancient travelers wore the gemstone to protect them from plagues and injury. It is also believed to increase appetite and relieve pain.

Blue Zircon has a lively, natural light to medium blue color with brilliance that rivals a diamond. I recently paired small blue zircons with diamonds in an eternity band created to commemorate the birth of a December son. I also like to pair it with darker blue sapphires as well as brown zircons. The gem is readily available in a variety of sizes, I prefer the round shape to maximize its refraction and dispersion!
